Advertisement Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Hi pgk, Take a look here Telford's Menai Bridge Detail. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mikemgb Posted December 11, 2017 Share #2 Posted December 11, 2017 When I first moved to Anglesey that was the only road bridge connecting the island with the mainland, The Britannia Bridge didn't have it's road deck at the time. Two buses squeezing past each other on the bridge was a fun experience.
Graham (G4FUJ) Posted December 12, 2017 Share #3 Posted December 12, 2017 Didn't know there was a footway across the bridge. I have ridden across it, while on a charity motorcycle tour, many years ago. If/When I manage to return to the area, I will take a walk (with camera of course! ). Lovely photo Paul. pgk Posted December 12, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted December 12, 2017 If you visit, try to make it on a day when Menai Heritage is open (http://menaibridges.co.uk) I spent the last two days there with a 'pop up' of images of the Menai Strait and there are some fascinating exhibits. The Britannia Bridge is also worth exploring (http://galerihafod.co.uk/project/menai-strait-the-swellies/) and there is even a small booklet (just a few £s) on the walks surrounding the bridges available from Menai Heritage

Hello Paul, Nice photo. Hello Graham, The only way I have ever gone over that bridge was walking. Altho when I last walked over it: There was no separate walkway.
