Ronny Baxter Posted December 9, 2017 Share #1 Posted December 9, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear Friends. I’m looking to buy a Leitz Summaron 3.5cm f3.5 with M3 Spectacles with a view to use with my 262. I’ve got my eye on one on the internet. Lens appears to be clean, no haze or fungus and has been recently serviced, at a cost of £400. I’d be very grateful if you could advise me if (i) it’s directly compatible with my 262 (without an adaptor) (ii) if the M3 Spectacles are removable (iii) if you know of any threads here I could pick up to follow Forum members’ experiences of using this lens with digital Ms. With thanks, Ronny
Advertisement Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Hi Ronny Baxter, Take a look here Leitz Summaron 3.5cm f3.5 with M3 Spectacle compatible with M262?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
DickieT Posted December 9, 2017 Share #2 Posted December 9, 2017 If you have the M version it is directly compatible and no, you cannot remove the goggles. If it is a LTM version, you need an adapter (I like the Kipon adapters). The 35mm 3.5 Summaron also came without goggles (in M and LTM) - why dont you buy of those straight away? earleygallery Posted December 9, 2017 Share #3 Posted December 9, 2017 If you buy a goggled lens it must be used with the goggles.
Kwesi Posted January 7, 2018 Share #4 Posted January 7, 2018 Actually, it can be used without the goggles. lens must first be set to infinity focus, then loosen the set screw on the goggles and slide off pulling towards the front of the lens. Beware though that you are now set to infinity focus only on the lens.
