Tree stumps from when things went bang?

Just curious, I was on a bulk carrier when that happened, sailed into Portland to load grain some months afterwards. :)

Yes. Thousands of trees were snapped off at the base in the blast. In the background is a new tree growing.

 

My wife was driving with friends from Oregon to Seattle when it happened. They had to detour far to the east and go around.
