Okay, dumb question, but, I'm trying to update my firmware to the 2.05 version.  On the Leica website all I see is a two page pdf (English) to download under firmware.  Is that what I should be downloading and saving to my card?  I got this link from the forum. 

thanks for any advice.

No, that’s not the firmware. The download is reached through a series of drop down menus where you select the camera. The final list includes this

So, I have a problem. I go to Leica and download update to desktop on Mac Book. I insert SD card in to slot. I drag file from download to SD card icon. It shows up in card. I eject card properly, I think and put it in 240. I press info and turn on and I get a message that the file update is not correct! WHAT am I doing wrong???!!!

Have you formatted the SD card in the Leica M 240 before using it to download and have you put the download in the upper folder?

Did you sort this?

If not, this may help: I've just updated successfully, but initially I was getting a similar message to you. I checked the file back at the computer and found the AV had locked it, so I was trying to update the firmware with a locked or blocked file - it was showing the correct size, ie 8.2MB, but the camera couldn't access it. Once I understood what was happening it was simply a single click to unblock and all was good.
