I waited a while (just in case of bugs being found) and then did the update.  Everything works well.

I can reproduce it on my M240. It’s not like the traditional lock-up, you don’t need to remove the battery to get over it. Nobody else has reported it; as the sequence of operations to invoke it is not usual (shoot, play, zoom in - quickly and about ten times) I suppose people aren’t interested.

I'll definitely never be buying either of the newly-supported lenses, and I only use flash in auto-thyristor mode thus the camera has no part in deciding the exposure.  I haven't found any other bugs in mine, but if there are any which this fw fixes, I don't see why Leica would choose not to mention them.  If Leica revises their description to specify other bug fixes then I might consider updating the fw.  As there is always a remote possibilty of bricking a device updating fw, I don't do it unless I have a good reason to.

Lenses listed there are those lacking 6-bit coding at some stage of their history. At least that is what i thought when i realised that the new 28/5.6 is listed as well. To help owners of the original 28/5.6 perhaps. But why displaying the product number of the current 28/5.6 then, i have no idea.

so why not put the Thambar on the list? All a little bit foggy isn't it?.

M Lenses produced with six bit codes from inception are not on the manual selection list.

Lenses introduced prior to six bit code invention are on the manual selection list.

The original Thambar, if I am not mistaken, was a thread mount lens and not a bayonet mount.

Catalogue number is the new one.  And as you pointed out for the Thambar, the original 28/5.6 was TTBOMK never manufactured in M mount.
