Ernest Posted December 2, 2017 Share #4 Posted December 2, 2017 Next year this bird will have its adult plumage. VL 114 The blown out sky and the limited palette gives us a dramatic graphic art piece. Aviary attitude, this bird certainly has, almost as if to say, “You looking at me? You looking at me?“ All right, no Robert De Niro here, but this fowl certainly looks serious with its sidelong glance. Very effective composition, anyway. Could we have a little more of the pine needles at the left frame so they’re not cut off? My eye lands on the eagle, then wanders over to the pine needles, and then there is a little contest that gets in the way of my attention. All right, I will get off my trampoline and think about more of Vermeer’s Girl with the Pearl Earring, her over the shoulder glance, and Gerhard Richter’s portrait of his daughter, Betty, who will not even give us the glance. “You looking at me?“ Your eagle is Galerie caliber. “Yes, I’m looking at you!“ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
North / Northwest Posted December 2, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted December 2, 2017 Thank you everyone. Ernest, The blown out sky is the product of a gray rainy day and an over exposure of the bird. Good idea about the pine needles. Funny about De Niro, I always have the same thought when I see one of these birds looking at me.
