Leica M240/262 ERC query

Spotting a good "Black Friday" deal on a Leica ever ready case for an M I bought one.

It arrived yesterday and is a distinct improvement on the budget neoprene case / body protector I bought with the camera.

However, I am puzzling how to separate the front of the ERC from the body.

There appears to be a press stud - but applying usual force does not separate the front from the base.

Looking under the flap there appears to be a metal fixing but I am not sure if I should pull the two apart or do something else.

Obviously I don't want to damage it! The only info in the case was a note about possible discolouration of the leather.

Can someone tell me what to do?

I have tried googling and not found an answer though I have seen a picture of the two sections separated.

Thanks

John

The case bottom is a keyway. The stud in the case top slides/snaps toward the front (or back, I forget) and then comes free.

Thanks, I did actually fathom it out in the end. Having had quite a few ERCs on 35mm cameras this is the first time I have encountered one like this. Glad I didn't force it!

I've got OEM ERC's for my M4's which both have that keyway design.  I think (not sure) the ones for my Nikon FTn's are like that also.  The reason I guess is for those who use the cases as intended, with top part attached and hanging, it's a lot harder to have it unintentionally detach and fall off, compared to a simple snap.
