A favourite spot of mine too.

Unfortunately, Skye is getting so busy that it's very difficult to take photographs without hundreds of camper vans and coaches intruding. There are better places to visit in Scotland these days and leave Skye to the rest.

While it is true that in summer going to Skye is impossible, in general I have to disagree, Andy - it is enough to go in the right season, and to the right locations, and you can still enjoy the best of Skye in relative peace. I am leading Workshops there for three years now, after having visited for about a decade more or less every year, and I don't think we never had to compete for a spot or having to clone out other photographers from our pictures

Beautiful Vieri,

We were on Isle of Skye this September but only for two nights and wished we had spent more time there. It was not crowded. The weather was great. We drove past this location but in the middle of the day. Hope to go back!!!!!

Beautiful Vieri,

Thank you very much Bill, glad you enjoyed it!

Glad you enjoyed Skye without the crowds, as well. We'll be back in spring for one of my Workshops, let me know if interested.

Another stunning photo Vieri!

Andy - despite the "hordes" if I'm in the area I still have to visit Skye, if for no other reason than taking another ride on the turntable ferry.

Thank you very much Graham, glad you enjoyed it!

Best regards,

Vieri

50/1.4 seems to have been shipped to some dealers, images and reviews may appear soon

After the launch of the M-APO50/2, this is probably the most awaited Leica lens

The last time I was at Wetzlar I was requested to be patient till December, they were ironing out some firmware issues. I will go towards the end of next week to see if they have one for me to play with. Needless to say, I will share the images here

If any of you gets a unit to play with, do post the images here for the benefit of all

I recently was thrown off when shooting a location portrait with the sun behind my subject. The flare in the SL viewfinder made critical focusing or even viewing impossible. Shooting into the sun with its rim light effect on the hair is one of my go-to tricks in bright sunlight. It’s never been an issue with DSLRs. I’m thinking that because light is directly hitting the sensor in a mirrorless camera, this is an insurmountable problem. Has anyone experienced this?

      Hi,
as you have probably read the "title" you might already have an idea what my Problem is, but im going to give you a bit of background story. I hope its goint to make it more understandable.
So i got my leica SL 1-2 Years ago. Since then i have updated the Firmware some times, since the 3.4 Update, i didn't do any updates. So a few days ago, i updated it, and lets just say, it wasn't the smartest decision. It locked the MC-21 out (which previously worked), and also some other lenses, i borrowed from a friend also didn't work.
So now, is there any way i can like downgrade it? I tried "updating" to an older version but i just got an error.
Please, if someone knows a solution to the problem, i would be very glad to hear it

      THANKS in advance!!
