Hi, I am running Mac Book Pro, early 2011 with OS X Version 10.9.5.

I have been using Adobe PS CC 2015.5 for some time without hiccup, last update was 55 days ago - 29 September. Tonight i uploaded latest variant of 2015.5 which was available since mid October. DNGs or JPG or any other files can't be opened, i am getting following message;"Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file".

Trying to rectify I restored previous settings (before CC upload) and reset the Mac, still no luck.

What did i do wrong, what is going on?

Any suggestion welcome.

You might have more luck solving this in an Adobe forum.

I am hoping there may be few computer /PS dab hands here. Did try quick search, nearest scenario fix was for windows platform, trying to replicate steps on Mac didn’t provide solution.

Maybe I need to upgrade to High Sierra, of this would screw things further?

No promises, but PS works fine for me with High Sierra 10.13.1

Can you open the problem files with Preview?

Not sure which one is Preview?

I can see & open JPGs in Apple's own Quick Look, also view JPGs in PS Bridge, that is about it.
