earleygallery Posted November 23, 2017 Share #21 Posted November 23, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm so excited at the news of this new camera. For many years I was using a Leica/Minolta CL and I loved the small format of the camera. However, before I can even think of buying one, I have to ask the following questions: – What bag should I get for my new Leica CL? - Bag for life, 10p at your nearest supermarket What case should I get my new Leica CL? - no need if you get a bag for life, see above What strap should I get my new Leica CL? - boot lace, various colours available, cheap and effective. Double knot for extra security. Usually come in packs of 2. And also, I shall soon be going on holiday to Bourton on the Water, do think I should take it with me? - No, in case you drop it in the water. Buy an X-U for that. lanetomlane Posted November 23, 2017 Share #22 Posted November 23, 2017 No probs. Hang in there it will be forthcoming. In my experience the Cotswolds are survivable without a Thumbs up - just. It really depends on whether you're hitch-hiking. If so, you'll definitely need a thumbs-up. Cheers, Tom
lanetomlane Posted November 23, 2017 Share #23 Posted November 23, 2017 I ordered one about 20 mins ago, first in the queue - what should I wear when I pick it up from the shop??? Is that a bag, or a camera? Cheers, Tom
marcg Posted November 23, 2017 Author Share #24 Posted November 23, 2017 All of this advice is extremely helpful – but I wonder now whether I shouldn't wait until the release of the special titanium edition. What does anybody think?
LocalHero1953 Posted November 23, 2017 Share #25 Posted November 23, 2017 If you buy this stuff now, how do you know it will fit the CL2? Better wait for a few years.
marcg Posted November 23, 2017 Author Share #26 Posted November 23, 2017 Blimey, you're dead right. This is getting complicated. When do you think that the monochrom edition will come out?

IkarusJohn Posted November 23, 2017 Share #28 Posted November 23, 2017 The CL2 will have IBIS, the EVF from the SL, full frame sensor, will be thinner than the CL, AND will have a phone built in!
thighslapper Posted November 23, 2017 Share #29 Posted November 23, 2017 The CL2 will have IBIS, the EVF from the SL, full frame sensor, will be thinner than the CL, AND will have a phone built in! .... and you really will be able to put in your pocket ....... with almost any lens attached .....
Louis Posted November 23, 2017 Share #30 Posted November 23, 2017 The CL2 will have IBIS, the EVF from the SL, full frame sensor, will be thinner than the CL, AND will have a phone built in! I have been told by informed sources that, indeed, Leica is already considering a CL2 that besides your suggestions, it will also open your garage door and change channels on your TV.

The built-in Tardis will come in handy for fitting all that in your pocket.
marcg Posted November 23, 2017 Author Share #32 Posted November 23, 2017 The built-in Tardis will come in handy for fitting all that in your pocket. Now hang on. This is meant to be a serious thread about serious issues but now this is becoming positively silly.
a.noctilux Posted November 23, 2017 Share #33 Posted November 23, 2017 Is it silly enough if I wait for CL-D, the one without LCD screen like M-D ? After that, a tempting must have is the same thing in monochrom "limited platina" CL-monochrom for the x anniversary of Dr. Mandler .
marcg Posted November 24, 2017 Author Share #34 Posted November 24, 2017 No. That's not silly at all
vikasmg Posted November 24, 2017 Share #35 Posted November 24, 2017 (edited) .... And also, I shall soon be going on holiday to Bourton on the Water, do think I should take it with me? The first thing that strikes me about your post is to say _don’t_ go to Bourton on the Water. Or at least I wouldn’t plan to spend a lot of time there. It struck me a place that has become a victim of its own beauty. It’s so full of gawking tourists and touristy shops that a lot of places in the Cotswolds well worth your photographic attention. - Vikas Edited November 24, 2017 by vikasmg
vikasmg Posted November 24, 2017 Share #36 Posted November 24, 2017 No probs. Hang in there it will be forthcoming. In my experience the Cotswolds are survivable without a Thumbs up - just. Just stay away from the water in case the CL without thumb slips in. - Vikas

That sounds like my iPhon - no wait, a Huawei with a new viewfinder clipped on. - Vikas

For the Lake District you will need the Beatrix Potter edition CL, which comes with a Jemima Puddle-Duck waterproof housing. William
