Here is a slightly cropped version which increases the emphasis on the more interesting foreground.

😀 Thank you. To be honest that darker processing is much more to my taste too and the crop is effective; I probably wouldn't have been quite so brutal with cutting aaway the sky but it really does pop the foreground!. I need a lot more practice with landscapes - I'm a townie at heart!

Thank you. One further qualification. You have the advantage of having experienced a feeling for this landscape before you captured it in camera. I did not have that advantage when selecting split toning in my PP. When you try this technique for yourself you can select component tones and blend them to help portray that feeling you experienced in the field. On the other hand, experimentation in PP can sometime lead to very pleasing new discoveries and new interpretations. I did not use presets on this occasion; just experimented with basic controls in LR to achieve a desired result.

Well it's Suffolk so fairly flat and largely uninteresting until you get to a river or the coast. Or maybe I just have much empathy for fields.

I had guessed split toning and I might blend a different combination but the principles are there. I'm an avid LR user and usually process fairly aggressively but on this occasion not. Thank you for taking the trouble - I've learnt something new here.

A River Runs Through It

I picked up a "pre-loved" CL and 18-56 back in December, took half a dozen shots and got sick. I just found this and the following on the card so thought I would share here.

Graffiti. A walk along the lake front sometimes turns up things that have been recycled. This block, turned sideways, used to serve an important purpose but no one it seems wanted to repaint it. I some ways it looks like a relative of the cave paintings of Lascaux. CL + 18 - 56
