Richardgb Posted November 21, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 21, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) PortraitPro is now out in its 17th incarnation. Does anyone have anything to say about this software, either as a stand-alone or plug-in for Lightroom / Photoshop? Ease of use (compared to the usual LR / PS adjustments) ? Value for money? Alternatives? Thanks.
Advertisement Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Hi Richardgb, Take a look here PortraitPro 17. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Luke_Miller Posted November 21, 2017 Share #2 Posted November 21, 2017 (edited) I have version 15 which is an upgrade from an earlier version. Used it for years and find it very useful and easy to use. Works well to create pleasing portraits of "mature" subjects as we as resolving "teenage skin" issues. It defaults to automatic face-sculpting, which makes for nice portraits that no longer fully resemble the subject. I disable that function. I've used it both with Lightroom and photoshop, My preference is Photoshop on a layer so I can dial it back if needed. SilentShutter Posted November 22, 2017 Share #3 Posted November 22, 2017 PortraitPro is a question of taste I would use it very carefully !
Luke_Miller Posted November 22, 2017 Share #4 Posted November 22, 2017 PortraitPro is a question of taste I would use it very carefully ! I agree. There are times it is necessary in order to satisfy the client. But it is not part of my normal workflow.
Gobert Posted November 22, 2017 Share #5 Posted November 22, 2017 The results of Portrait Pro are “over the top” in my view. I’ve always considered it as hobbyism.

I’ve always considered it as hobbyism. Thanks to all. I agree that the examples shown on the advertising, while 'clever', are going OTT and even unrealistic - a bit like some of the renderings seen on popular mags and (early) CG and video games.
