I'm very intrigued by deep tonal range and rendering. It is not harsh in contrast, not plastic in rendering, sharp, but not too digitally sharp.  If not a secret, what camera is this?

The picture was taken with a Leica M10.

Minimum work in PS to convert the file from DNG to B&W JPEG, The secret is to get the picture with a very good exposition and try to finish the pictures in camera not in the PC.

Cheers.

so often 2 sharp eyes with 0.95....you´re better than most cameras

#1 and #13, I see the thin DOF, in the other pictures I am really surprised about it (my experience ends at F1.2 Nikkor and there DOF is shorter)

anyhow beside technical aspects, I find these pictures great.

Are these strangers or people you know?

They are strangers i just approach them pointing with my finger towards the subject at the same time i tell them please hold on for a while.........after the click i use to talk with them and show the picture normally nobody dislike it and sometimes they ask me to send them the picture.

Some of them also talk about photography and the old film cameras that they have at home  :)

I owned and used the Voigtländer Nokton 1,1/50 with my M6 and wasn´t satisfied with it at all.

Run into a Nikkor S 1,2/55 modified to AI on accident later and tried it with my D700 and was surpriesed how sharp

it was stopped down to f2 with still a incredible Bokeh !

These photographs are all outstanding. In my opinion, the results have little to do with the camera and lens. I believe they're successful because of your ability to approach people and make an instant connection with them without being confrontational or intimidating. Your moments with them put a spark in their day and it shows in the portraits. The images would be great even if you were shooting with a Kodak Instamatic. It's a skill I very much admire.
