I have decided to buy a sl. But I love tl2 too. Do you think that when I have a sl, I still need tl2 or not?

The SL is heavy, the TL2 is light as a feather, comparatively.

If you really want superior quality, the SL is the one to use. It handles low light better, has a more responsive AF system, and a better EVF. It does a much easier job with manual focus lenses, too. But, it is heavy!  The TL2 always attracts its admirers, is such a pleasure to carry around and in is wonderful in good lighting. The images are terrific too. The AF system is much improved on the TL2 compared to the T.

I cannot define what you need. I have both (and an original T!) so if you need a rationalization to have both I'm happy to serve in that capacity. :)

Weight would IMO be the main reason to consider the TL2 in addition to the SL.

BTW, the SL in itself is not that heavy, it is mainly the lenses that add the weight.  All 3 available lenses weigh more than 1KG.

Like Rob above I also own SL, T and TL2.

Although the TL2 is a significant improvement over the T I at the same time also have to admit that it falls a bit short of my expectations, mainly due to AF although improved still not being on par with SL and Q.

I have both ..... and took them on my recent landscape trip .....  TL2 is excellent as a back up body and for quick shots where fiddling with a tripod is too much trouble.

The systems complement each other very well..... and particularly on trips abroad where there are times when you don't want to cart about the whole SL kit and can leave it in the hotel.

I have a set of TL lenses, used for video on the SL, and occasionally for 11 MPx stills.  The 11-23 TL zoom in particular provides something the SL lens family won't have for many months.  As a result, I have been thinking about putting 24 MPx behind these lenses with the newer generation sensor and processing that the TL2 provides.  But I can wait until Nov 22 (and a few months after that, most likely) to see if the CL offers faster AF and more natural eye-level shooting mechanics.
