Luke_Miller Posted November 8, 2017 Share #5 Posted November 8, 2017 The lens mount reminds me of that on the M10 which is necessary to creating the correct register distance for M lenses. Is this a mirrorless camera for M lenses?
rosuna Posted November 8, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted November 8, 2017 (edited) The lens mount reminds me of that on the M10 which is necessary to creating the correct register distance for M lenses. Is this a mirrorless camera for M lenses? It appears to be a new TL camera... But the back reminds that of the M10... jmschuh Posted November 8, 2017 Share #8 Posted November 8, 2017 Love the design. It looks like a Barnack camera.
UliWer Posted November 8, 2017 Share #9 Posted November 8, 2017 The original X looked like the Leica I. Here I feel they weren't couragous enough to follow the design of the viewfinder "housing" of the Leica II.

jaapv Posted November 9, 2017 Share #12 Posted November 9, 2017 IMHO... horrible: https://www.mirrorlessrumors.com/leaked-first-images-new-leica-xy/ . A lot more Leica-like than the T and SL. A rather nice design and a wise decision by Leica IMO.
rosuna Posted November 9, 2017 Author Share #13 Posted November 9, 2017 A lot more Leica-like than the T and SL. A rather nice design and a wise decision by Leica IMO. This XY camera is an ugly and coarse imitation of old Leica lines and shapes. I like the T design. It is one of the most beautiful cameras in the market. It is more faithful to Leica's philosophy: simply good design (beautiful and functional). The T system might need a different model with integrated EVF, but the XY is a bad joke, IMHO.

lct Posted November 9, 2017 Share #15 Posted November 9, 2017 (edited) Ugly indeed but hardly more so than the SL (to me). I had a body like that in mind when i chose my Fuji X-E2 vs the Apple err. Leica T. Level of compatibility with M lenses will be my main decision factor. APS-C? Sure but when i see what my Fuji can do with M lenses it can only be better IMO. The T does not ring my bell at all, nor does the SL.
jaapv Posted November 9, 2017 Share #20 Posted November 9, 2017 Actually, that people who like the TL dislike the XY and vica versa shows that Leica got it just right. They want to sell both lines and not have one eat into the other.
