fotografr Posted June 1, 2018 Share #61 Posted June 1, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) You've been busy, Brent! And every one a winner. The hawk and the doves are my favourites. Thank you! My wife has created an environment behind our home that attracts many kinds of birds. I'm able to photograph a lot of them with my VL 114 through the back windows without too much effort. Leica Guy Posted July 14, 2018 Share #73 Posted July 14, 2018 We'll, I persevered with the Leica Q application and with the help of the Q forum was successful using it to photograph Hummingbirds. It is challenging on many fronts, but also A LOT of fun. The app has a 1.5 second delay from the time you push the shutter button until the shutter on the camera actually fires. I believe this is mainly because it's trying to focus even though I have the camera in manual focus. It still goes through a sequence where it appear to be seeking focus. That lag makes it more challenging for a fast moving bird such as these, but I took over 200 shots and got a few timed right. Regardless, this is very fun and the app did work well overall with no significant drop outs. I did go to airplane mode on the iPhone to eliminate any potential interruptions such as email, text, phone calls. I set it up using the Leica wifi network instead of my home network. Again, thanks to some solid help from other Q forum members who have made the app work successfully. Here are a few photos. I only used two flashes this time. One ring flash on the camera and one to illuminate the background. I could remove or reduce the flash highlights in the eye, but I decided to leave it. Were I printing these, I'd reduce it. I posted this in the Q forum and it was suggested I also post it here. Welcome, dear visitor!
