LexS Posted November 7, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 7, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone experience with either Voigtländer 40/1.4 Nokton or 35/1.4 Nokton with adapter M to T?
Advertisement Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Hi LexS, Take a look here Voigtländer VM 40mm/1.4 Nokton Classic. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
steffenphotography Posted November 7, 2017 Share #2 Posted November 7, 2017 Yes. Beautiful setup. With Novoflex Adapter. Buzzy Bokeh at 1.4. Better to use at 2.0. If you like 60mm go for it. LexS Posted November 7, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted November 7, 2017 Thanks, beautiful picture. The reason I asked specifically the 35 or 40 mm is that the are short (in length I mean) so that the T fits in my pocket; about the size of the 23mm. The manual focussing is no problem since the latest firmware updates (3x and 6x enlargement).
MDCT Posted November 8, 2017 Share #4 Posted November 8, 2017 Got it an love it! I like the 60mm because it is long enough on the APS-C sensor to give really nice depth of field but wide enough for everyday use. Lexs is right the bokeh is bit nervous at 1.4 2.0 is the sweet spot. I also love the clarity and ease of focus. I can use it without the view finder in most cases.
LexS Posted November 9, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted November 9, 2017 Top! I am looking for the shortest length lens, a pancake is even shorter. The Voigtländer pancake is but F3.5 which is not good enough for me. So I will go for the 40/1.4 unless someone has an argument that the 35/1.4 is to prefer. MDCT Posted November 11, 2017 Share #6 Posted November 11, 2017 Lexs I would highly recommend getting a close focus adaptor. I ordered the Hawks factory adaptor. It really makes a difference with the 40.

MDCT Posted November 18, 2017 Share #11 Posted November 18, 2017 Sure. Get a M mount front cap and you’re good to go
mmanda Posted November 18, 2017 Share #12 Posted November 18, 2017 (edited) Sure. Get a M mount front cap and you’re good to go Thanks sometimes I grab the T with the 40 Nokton on it to shoot a pic of the baby doing some new thing and am just too close to get him in focus and then fill the frame - assuming this might help with that and also other subjects. Will improve the flexibility of the lens too. Edited November 18, 2017 by mmanda
