M9 Bulb shutter setting

Thirty minutes! Interesting because I thought the max duration was 4 minutes followed by another 4 minute
dark frame.

Then I read that Thorsten Overgaard discovered a T setting. He wrote:

"T mode for long exposure using self timer. The Leica M9 has a "T" function. Set to self timer
(to 2 or 12 seconds in the Menu, then turn the wheel by the shutter far left to the self timer symbol),
set exposure dial to "B", activate the self timer by pressing the shutter, the shutter will open and stay
open until the release button is tapped again. This function works on the M8 and M8.2 as well."

I will test this myself and come back.

Didn't work with Thorsten's tip.  M9. I got 240 seconds and the 240 second black frame. It could be due to firmware version. Mine is 1.210.

I would like to know how you got 30 minutes.

Okay, last post to correct my my mention of Thorsten's post regarding a T-Stop. What he probably meant is that the T-stop worked within Leica's imposition of a  4  minute maximum exposure time and does not work beyond that limit.

Forgive my misunderstanding, please.
