Advertisement Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Hi CYBORA, Take a look here Voigtlander NOKTON 40mm f/1.2 Aspherical lens for Leica M-mount officially announced. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jlindstrom Posted October 20, 2017 Share #2 Posted October 20, 2017 That’s a very interesting lens. Small, fast and I like the focal. Used to shoot the 40/1.4 classic, but the focus shift was too much on digital. Hope this new nokton doesn’t suffer from any. Rus Posted October 20, 2017 Share #5 Posted October 20, 2017 Kudos to Voigtlander for making this fast lens a bit fat rather than too long. Much better balance when mounted on the camera.

luigi bertolotti Posted October 21, 2017 Share #8 Posted October 21, 2017 Interesting review by Fred Miranda here: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1512530 Yes... from a quick read (am not so interested in this lens) I had been rather impressed by the focus shift... for a Leica RF lens this is quite disappointing... Joakim Posted October 21, 2017 Share #9 Posted October 21, 2017 The review is for the Sony E version, it should be similar to the VM mount version but still.

tangfj Posted November 15, 2017 Share #11 Posted November 15, 2017 Anyone heard yet when they will start selling the M mount version? I'm interested in this lens and using it with my M10 and Sony A9 + Techart Pro adapter...
Torsten_M Posted November 25, 2017 Share #12 Posted November 25, 2017 I have no Idea how anybody would say this lens is huge. It`s a tiny lens, 43 mm long, thats less than most 50 mm 2.0 lens. I would like to know smaller f 1.2 lenses. In Europa the lens is available since November, 22. I just have tried the lens very nice. Lots of CA at 1.2 but at 1.7 is`t gone. sblitz Posted November 25, 2017 Share #13 Posted November 25, 2017 I have the original Leica summaron 40mm, purchase in London, small, easy to set for hyperfocal so I use the attached viewfinder, really enjoy this lens! How does new Voigtlander compare?
Torsten_M Posted November 25, 2017 Share #14 Posted November 25, 2017 (edited) Hi Steve, you mean the 40 mm summicron? The summicron is smaller, has lower contrast wide open, the colours are more muted and wide open it is softer and lower in resolution. But of course it is a very nice compact lens and with f 5.6 the difference is probably not large. For black and white the lil summicron might even the better choice. I prefer the bokeh of the Voigtländer. BR Torsten Edited November 25, 2017 by Torsten_M
Herr Barnack Posted November 27, 2017 Share #15 Posted November 27, 2017 I hope Voigtlander will continue to make the 35/1.2 ASPH Nokton II; any word on this? I had the v.1 and sold it and am in need of a v.2...

True, although Voigtlænder has kept the 35/1.2 Nokton Mk1 and Mk2 for sale alongside the 35/1.4 Nokton MC, 35/1.4 Nokton SC, and 40/1.4 Nokton for many years so it seems more likely that, if anything, they would drop the 40/1.4 Nokton because comparatively speaking it's quite an old lens now. blacksinner Posted December 9, 2017 Share #18 Posted December 9, 2017 Surprisingly, it's considerably small. and i love the character of the lens. on m9 its excellent but a bit front heavy so when put down an table it tilted to front.
steveBK Posted December 10, 2017 Share #19 Posted December 10, 2017 Picked this lens up Friday, really enjoying it. Balances well on the SL. S1050718 by Steve, on Flickr S1050714 by Steve, on Flickr
malfaris Posted December 11, 2017 Share #20 Posted December 11, 2017 how you think it will perform on M9 steve? I have it on order and it should be shipped today, but thinking of canceling for ULRTON 35mm f.17 for its compact size. ppl seem to have mix opinion in Fred forum
