6bit Posted October 18, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 18, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I really struggled choosing between black and silver. I went with Black because my M6 is black and to me it is more incognito. Looking back, I am still not sure I made the correct decision. I know this may seem stupid but that’s how I feel. I guess I will get a silver m11. LOL How do you feel about your camera color choice?
Advertisement Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Hi 6bit, Take a look here Satisfied with color of camera chosen?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
4pipes Posted October 18, 2017 Share #2 Posted October 18, 2017 Really wasn’t a consideration. Took what I got.
mr_big Posted October 18, 2017 Share #3 Posted October 18, 2017 Black for me all the way although I could've gotten a silver one without waiting.
adan Posted October 18, 2017 Share #4 Posted October 18, 2017 Given that I got my M10 very quickly (by March) by ordering silver, I have no doubts whatever about my original choice. All other things being equal, I usually prefer black - especially since black chrome has returned with the M10. (Wanna swap? ). But "a camera in the hand is worth a hundred on order." And unless one is into "male jewelry," the color is so....meaningless. I'm sure that at some point in the future I'll get a second M10 body, and it will be black, (more or less what I did with the M8). No rush.
riswanc Posted October 18, 2017 Share #5 Posted October 18, 2017 When i was hunting back then for the M10 Any given colour will justify, got the black first hand and got a chance to replace with silver later on Instagram @jakontil
Jay B Posted October 18, 2017 Share #6 Posted October 18, 2017 Have had many black and silver Leica camera and lenses over the years, found it really doesn't matter to myself or anyone else what color they are. So now it's whatever the shop hands me.
Keith_W Posted October 18, 2017 Share #7 Posted October 18, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I wanted a black M10, but the waitlist for my dealer was 2 months longer than the silver M10. So I ordered a silver M10. Shortly afterwards, someone wanted to trade his black M10 for a silver M10. But by then the colour of my camera had grown on me, so I decided to keep it.
robert blu Posted October 18, 2017 Share #8 Posted October 18, 2017 Black, black and black again...this is just my personal preference which of course could be wrong but usually is not! robert
Jeff S Posted October 18, 2017 Share #9 Posted October 18, 2017 I usually choose black, but found the protruding silver mount on the M10 a bit odd, so decided on silver when presented with both options. I've kept the red dot, which I would have likely changed to black on the black version. Silly stuff... just personal preference. Jeff

evikne Posted October 18, 2017 Share #11 Posted October 18, 2017 When I saw the first promo picture of the black M10, there was no doubt: it had to be black! I also prefer a camera that doesn't attract too much attention.
Jeff S Posted October 18, 2017 Share #12 Posted October 18, 2017 I've owned black and silver Ms over 35 years and none have attracted a bit of attention as long as I remained discreet. Jeff
Eoin Posted October 18, 2017 Share #13 Posted October 18, 2017 I wanted black for a change, got black. Only thing I dislike is silver lenses on black bodies so that makes a coded Elmar-M 50 that bit more difficult to find because it has to be black. (still looking) Absolutely no regrets in my colour choice, camera is superb in every respect.

farnz Posted October 18, 2017 Share #15 Posted October 18, 2017 I prefer silver so silver it was and I changed the red dot for a spare black one that I'd had for my M8. Looks superb to me. Pete.
pico Posted October 19, 2017 Share #16 Posted October 19, 2017 Why doesn't Leica make a clear coated brass model? Like this one. http://www.digoliardi.net/brassleica.jpg
Jeff S Posted October 19, 2017 Share #17 Posted October 19, 2017 Why doesn't Leica make a clear coated brass model? Like this one. http://www.digoliardi.net/brassleica.jpg Two very costly brass special editions have been made... the Jim Marshall M246 ($13k) and a special set of 35 M-Ps from Singapore last year (for a mere $35k each).... both editions came with matching lenses. But neither finish looked the least bit distressed or old fashioned. Jeff
pico Posted October 19, 2017 Share #18 Posted October 19, 2017 (edited) Thank you, Jeff. I had no idea. Does anyone know just how that brass finish was achieved? My guess is mild acid etching. Edited October 19, 2017 by pico
