dsc Posted October 15, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've found an Ebay listing for older Leica loupe with what appears to be an internal scale at the base which may cover some of the visible area. Am curious if these are intended for photographic work (viewing negatives, etc) or non-photographic? Can these be used for viewing prints, negatives? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Leitz-Leica-8x-Magnifier-Loupe/142451799527

thebarnman Posted October 17, 2017 Share #2 Posted October 17, 2017 "Made in Germany by Ernst Leitz company in Wetzlar circa 1960s. Optical system made from a glass lenses with 8x magnification power. Reticle 8mm / 0.1mm. Wide field of view without distortion. The practical, well thought-out design provides you with a multitude of applications for the precise measuring of scripts, line thicknesses, distances on plans and drawings, drillings, hole spacing, profile gauges, facets, angles etc. The scale magnifier is placed directly onto the object to be measured, the length can then easily be read off the precision scale built in on the bottom. Focusing makes it possible to adapt to the user's individual vision. Corrected for spherical aberrations and distortion, as a result you have a bright, clear and sharp image"
