External VF advice

I'm not sure this is the right forum so apologies in advance.

I'm shooting a lot with a Zeiss M 25mm on my M240 and, as is obvious, I need the EVF to see all. Frankly, I hate using it and am considering purchasing the dedicated external VF. I shoot a lot of street grab shots and people doing their thing, and the lag from the EVF is annoying. I figure F8 and zone focusing will cover exposure, I just need to accommodate composition.

Q. If anyone has used one, is there a distortion free view and is it optically good.?

If it's relevant, I wear spectacles

Thanks for any feedback

Ray.

You should be aware that Zeiss finders don't align with 100% accuracy to Leica cameras, but if you're comfortable with slightly loose framing they are a joy to use. I prefer them to all others.

The EVF is useful for macro,  focussing in some difficult situations with tricky lenses or when calibration is doubtful, and when framing accuracy is paramount, but all those things combined account for a very small proportion of my photography so a lovely bright Zeiss finder is my first choice. Sounds like it would be perfect for your style of photography.
