I am not so sure if the same soft, desaturated look works so well with the yellow Julia Child rose though. With the white rose I used a texture overlay. Then I painted it off the rose with a watercolor brush removing less texture as I went from the center to the outer petals. I worked in Affinity but any processing program with layers and masks would work. On the yellow rose, I used a more transparent texture and played with the lighting effects.
