Reviewing the summer's flower shots, I saw this spill of pink peonies from my garden. Sometimes you can't beat a clean shot with a 35mm lens.

Taken this morning. The two first are not illustrating "sun after shower", but the results of my wife's daily watering (last drops of rain date months...). The third one was just next, and I couldn't resist.

I have found the M240 with a 90mm M lens ( I use a 90mm Elmarit-M ) mounted on the Leica M Macro adapter to be a very useful & convenient set-up for flower and close-up work.

..........from our garden.

While waiting to be seated at our favorite trattoria in Sonoma I noticed these blossoms covering both sides of the hallway in which we were standing - actually, it was the bees buzzing that made me look.

D-Lux-4, the best pocket camera I've ever owned.................I don't leave the house without it, and as long as it works I'll never part with it - so far, so good.

How did you get these shots? Are those leaves floating on water? Pretty cool effect!

This is a 60mm macro shot of the Julia Child rose taken in my Cape Cod garden Nov 1. Still all buttery loveliness in November.

Winnowingfan, I love the painterly look you achieved with the white rose above. Mind if you share how you achieved that effect?

I am not so sure if the same soft, desaturated look works so well with the yellow Julia Child rose though.

With the white rose I used a texture overlay. Then I painted it off the rose with a watercolor brush removing less texture as I went from the center to the outer petals. I worked in Affinity but any processing program with layers and masks would work.

On the yellow rose, I used a more transparent texture and played with the lighting effects.
