I have just purchased a Leica AMER for close-up and macro work with my M10.  Very happy with this combo so far. No so with my p0 Arca ball head. Great head for travel and general purposes but so so for still live and macro.

Any one out there with experience with the p0 hybrid or cube?

I have both the P0 and the P0 Hybrid now. Both are great; the Hybrid is best for those situations where precise positioning is critical. For field work where critical positioning isn't absolutely necessary, the P0 saves a bit of weight and size.

I have them fitted to my two sets of legs with the A-S QuickLink so I can swap which head is on which tripod quickly and easily.

Thanks ramarren. The p0 Hybrid looks good and I had a look at the QuickLink mechanism in the Arca shop site and seems like a fast and easy way to attach an remove the head.

The cube looks great too. More precise than the p0 Hybrid but slower and at double price :(

BTW what kind of tripod do you use?

The Cube is absolutely the best, but most useful for larger cameras IMO. I wouldn't buy it for as light a camera as the M10 unless my needs for precision framing were extraordinary.

I have several sets of legs. The two that I tend to use the most are a set of Manfrotto 190CF three-section legs for light duty work and a set of Feisol CT3442 Tournament legs for when I need more elevation and stability, and speed isn't so critical.

I have an old set of Bogen 3021 aluminum legs which are great when I need extreme stability for a heavier camera, but they're big and heavy to cart around. And I have a set of beautiful Berlebach legs from when I was shooting mostly 6x6 with the Hasselblad and other larger cameras, but I have them out on near-permanent loan to a good friend since I stopped doing that on a regular basis.

A vote here for the d4 as a geared head. Reasonable small, light, versatile and precise. I used mine with cameras ranging from the M10 to the Actus for precise (but not fast) work. Substantially less $, weight, and bulk than the Cube.
