Pride Day in Boise, Idaho.  This was made at the raising of the LGBTQ flag outside City Hall.  I was driving by, didn't know anything about it, but saw the crowd.  By the time I parked and got over there this was the only exposure I made because the crowd was dispersing.

There is a lot of back and forth about asking to take someone's photo on the street and obviously, we are not out there to piss people off, but I think when you interject yourself into the moment, when you ask them to take the picture, you ruin whatever it was that caught your eye. If you see a couple having a sweet moment in a park or if you see a dad helping his kid go down the stairs, these are fleeting moments that you have to grab... one almost doesn't have time to react and get the photo, let alone ask to take it. I also think that it toes the line between "street photography" and "street portraits"... I love them both, but they are different. IMO.
