That is empty, so close to the city centre shops and yet looks, as you said, a wasteland.

Thank you for sharing, as always your work creates emotion in me, my home town.

Thank you. I didn't know there were other LFI members in Glasgow. I suspected, but didn't know. We must be walking the same streets!

A bit of pandemic lockdown exercise yesterday. This is a spot in Glasgow, near the docks, where two disused freight railway lines cross each other. They've been out of use since the 1950's. The left side of the lower trackbed is now a cycle path/walkway.

Old Victorian infrastructure always amazes me. Even though this cutting and bridge were built for completely utilitarian and commercial reasons, the brickwork on the left here is a work of art. Neat to the point of having been built with pride, and unnecessarily glazed, it still retains its shine and lustre today.

I scanned a load of old and poor condition film from my trip to Havana. A broken camera, development time guesswork, and these are the result.

All things considered, you still managed to get some very good results - much better than I would have ended up with, I suspect.

Which cameras did you have with you, and what happened to them?

Thanks.

I had an Olympus SP35 that froze entirely. And a Contax G1 that developed electrical issues. It didn’t detect the ISO, and the shutter speed was fixed. Also focus didn’t work so I had to guess and walk. After being back in the UK for a couple of days it went back to perfection, so I’m guessing it was the heat and/or humidity.

The SP35 was working fine before taxi got me home from the airport. Sod’s law.

I will go back one day with a Hasselblad and something modern and bullet proof.

I would recommend an M4-P.  On my Mongolia trip in 2013, my MP froze - could not advance the film.  The M4-P saved the day.

I got the MP repaired by Sherry Krauter.  She said the problem was that a screw had backed out enough to interfere with film winding.  This was due to the 18 hours of flying and the high frequency vibrations caused by jet engines.

Everyone wants a new MP or an MA.  There are many excellent vintage film M cameras on the market at a fraction of the cost of an MP or an MA that are at least as capable and reliable.

Thank you. I've yet to try any of the Lomo films, but I hope to get around to it.

this is taken with Lomo Berlin, this roll came back quite a bit more grainy then i expected, lomo films seem to differ roll to roll too. Ilford are much more dependable. I haven't done anything to this at all in lightroom.
