What do we photograph on the streets?

I don't know if anyone else here does this, but the photog YouTuber Samuel Lintaro runs a live-streamed 'Street Critique' session via his Twitch site. Each month is on a particular theme. Last month's theme was 'Square Daido' - basically black and white, cropped square, in the style of Daido Moriyama. I submitted this image. I watched some of the stream (not all, as it is quite long), which was quite interesting, especially as I am a BIG fan of Moriyama's style. The image seemed to be well-liked, but it goes without saying that the criticism on offer is short and very basic.

I think the idea of a 'themed project' in a particular style would be a great thread to start here. Could be fun! Think photos in the style of Egglestone, Leiter, Maier etc.

This was taken with the M10 Monochrom and a 28mm Elmarit-M ASPH, processed with my own LR preset: 'Daido', which by now a few people here have asked me to share. Happy to do so if anyone is interested.

I like the right boy. It looks like it was not planned to include him in the frame.

As with most of my street shots, the scene developed as I approached and I was lucky to have the energy of both that boy on the right as well as the girl in the background to balance the two other boys staring into my lens.

With lots of respect to everyone else’s postings - and there are many regulars whose images I really look forward to seeing in this thread - I think this is a completely “timeless” image and one of the very very best I have ever seen on LUF.

Nigel, that is indeed high praise - thank you so much. I’m glad you’ve liked it…
