Advertisement Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Hi Linford, Take a look here Uhl Blackbird case..... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marcg Posted September 19, 2017 Share #2 Posted September 19, 2017 I don't think that I've ever seen anything so horrible and so incompatible with a camera let alone a Leica M in my whole life. Yuk!
jaapv Posted September 19, 2017 Share #3 Posted September 19, 2017 Philistine! Proven in use by major pro photojournalists, street shooters and documentary professionals. I must agree, I cannot imagine anybody defacing his camera with something like this. At 700 $ too.
Echo63 Posted September 19, 2017 Share #4 Posted September 19, 2017 Its not meant to be left on the camera is it ? I believe its a holster, like the old Fast and Prime one for the M9 and M240
LocalHero1953 Posted September 19, 2017 Share #5 Posted September 19, 2017 (edited) My horror is reserved for the price. If they were £600 less and I found one hanging up in a shop I would certainly try it out, but I see nothing that would incentivise me even to go and visit the maker - which seems like the only way to find out if it's worth it. Yes, this is the former Fast & Prime stuff - looks like rebranding and new website. Edited September 19, 2017 by LocalHero1953
Linford Posted September 19, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted September 19, 2017 Thanks for the feedback, gang. As Echo63 said, it is to be worn like a holster. I generally wear my M's naked on a strap by Harry Benz or TieHerUp. I was just thinking of it as an alternative with a finger strap. I'll let you know how it goes if I decide to try it. Cheers--linford

Overgaard Posted September 19, 2017 Share #9 Posted September 19, 2017 I like their design of bags. Can't figure the M case here. I'm sure that one will love it, if it works.
mr_big Posted September 20, 2017 Share #10 Posted September 20, 2017 (edited) Looks kinda kinky to me. It should be called the S&M case. Edited September 20, 2017 by mr_big
Linford Posted September 28, 2017 Author Share #11 Posted September 28, 2017 (edited) Well gang--I was too intrigued and decided to give it a go. Neal and I have been back and forth on the details and it seems to be that these really are bespoke and made to an individuals particular wants and fits. We'll see if it holds up to the price it commands. They have been very responsive with their communication-to me that is always a good sign. Stay tuned. I am expecting a late October delivery. I'll be sure and share my thoughts and some photos. Cheers--lt Edited September 28, 2017 by Linford
bocaburger Posted September 29, 2017 Share #12 Posted September 29, 2017 Philistine! I must agree, I cannot imagine anybody defacing his camera with something like this. At 700 $ too. That's UK pounds. $935 at today's exchange. Not that I would use one if they paid me to take it.
Linford Posted October 1, 2017 Author Share #13 Posted October 1, 2017 That's UK pounds. $935 at today's exchange. Not that I would use one if they paid me to take it. Let's be patient and kind--Phillistine, really? We will know soon enough. I will provide some photos. Needless to say, I hope it is a pleasant surprise. I have used Luigi's cases on all of my Leicas over the years. However, after using a hand strap on the SL and liking it, I was attracted to the finger strap idea and a harness type of a case for the M. Though I wear a Leica everywhere I go, they are tools of great enjoyment to me and I for one do not see them as a fashion statement. I have enjoyed all of your comments and feedback. --lt (Philistine)

Simon Posted October 3, 2017 Share #16 Posted October 3, 2017 It looks very high end. Rather gaudy but I’d use it if someone bought it for me. No way I’d pay anywhere near that though. That’s a third to a half the cost of a new lens! Only for the super rich.
Linford Posted January 3, 2018 Author Share #17 Posted January 3, 2018 Verdict is in. Incredible craftsmanship and very good communication from the maker throughout the process. However, it is not at all functional IMO. --linford
