Mr Fjeld Posted September 17, 2017 Share #1 Posted September 17, 2017 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm fortunate to live in Bergen (Norway) where this years World Championship is hosted. So far we have been blessed with wonderful weather, happy locals celebrating, a beautiful town and the best athletes in the world competing. I brought my M246 and a 50mm and was lucky to find a spot right after the finish line of the Women's Team Trial. It was harder than I thought but I tried to pre-focus and set the exposure at a certain point in front of me. The photos are by no means very good, and I have to admit most of them are more or less cropped - something make a point of not doing otherwise. I hope you'll like them: The winning team; Team Sunweb EmptyName 35 by Christian Fjeld, on Flickr EmptyName 42 by Christian Fjeld, on Flickr Bronze: EmptyName 40 by Christian Fjeld, on Flickr EmptyName 41 by Christian Fjeld, on Flickr EmptyName 37 by Christian Fjeld, on Flickr EmptyName 34 by Christian Fjeld, on Flickr Edited September 17, 2017 by Mr Fjeld

ash13brook Posted April 17, 2018 Share #4 Posted April 17, 2018 I'm a little new to the forum. I used to race AND shoot locally for a paper. Bicycle racing is tough enough with auto focus and a motor drive, let alone the way you shot it. I think they're nicely done, but for me the third one down tells the story of how the racing went. My favorite of the group. Matt
abrewer Posted April 18, 2018 Share #5 Posted April 18, 2018 Great shots, and a venue that we don't photograph enough IMO As was noted in another thread about shooting sports with an M, if you focus on a fixed location and wait for the subject to enter it is possible to succesfully capture moving objects at some speed In this case it looks like a fast shutter speed helped also

EoinC Posted April 19, 2018 Share #7 Posted April 19, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nice work, Christian. I grew up racing road and track (and found out where I stood when I tried doing it for a living back in the 1980's... ), and often use the M246 / 50mm combination for track racing. The easy part at the track is that they come back around again a003 by Eoin Christie, on Flickr

I would love to go and see something similar. Btw, that is a great action photo; the speed visible through the blurry movement, the pose and her focus ahead! Love it!
