M9 Review Posted (Diary part II)

Looks like one of the best reviews on M9 I ever seen! I will re-read it more closely.

So, you noticed what M9 metering is not as good as M8..... My M-E is the same. One of the worst cameras for AE. But it stimulates to understand the exposure and it works correctly with apertures, shutter speeds and ISO.

To me major factor to sell M8 was due to shutter loud noise. M-E is much quieter. Not for "street" reason, M8 shutter noise was bugging me, personally.

And I never get this buzz about M8 BW. It is different, but nothing special to my eyes. Leica Q have it better, IMO, or even 40$ LUMIX with CCD and Leica zoom was much more tasty for in-camera BW. I'm looking for it, again :). Not for M8, sold it because M9 is slightly better and I don't need two digital M.

Wow, that's some statement right there. Thank you for that! I'm glad you liked it! There are so many good articles on the M9 out there too... wow.

I'm glad you noticed it too, the M-E should be the same. And I agree that it helps stimulate understanding and using exposure as well.

I think users of the M8 have some valid praise about its merits, but also I think the M8 was sort of a victim of overhyped press coverage. So owners of the M8 tend to be a bit more protective or encouraging than usual about the camera. I do like the M8, it's got a quirky personality with its cropped sensor/frameline issues,  with its IR capabilities, and it has good metering too. But I can totally see how the M8 would be a put off for many. I can totally relate with that point of view.

Thank you again for reading, much obliged!
