Hello everyone,

I am developing a prototype for an additional piece of gear attachable to M-lenses with a handle on the focus ring. To make the thing work for as many lenses as possible (which are certainly more then I own) I would need a couple of hard to get Information about each lense in the list below this text. I am asking nobody to help me with all of this data but I would be glad if people who happen to own one or several of thoses lenses and a measuring stick would consider taking the effort of finding out and posting the following information:

1 diameter of the focus ring

2 focus rings visible depth with focus at close distance

3 focus rings visible depth with focus at infinity

4 width of the focus handles base if one exists

5 width of the focus handle on its downside (close to the lense)

6 width of the focus handles upside (the distance between the peaks on the sides of trough where the index

finger is put for moving

the focus)

7 height of the handle from contact point with

the focus ring in a direct

line to one of the peaks

If possible it would be quite usefull to also have the measured lenses serial number

for better systematization.

If there is any idea on alternative ways of getting these information I'd be most

interested to hear them.

Though I know it is a lot that I am asking for, I hope some of you will consider providing help.

All the best

Bernt

Remember you are not supposed to measure

them all. Heres the list of lenses I am intetested in:

Something that attaches to the focus tab? Or a replacement focus tab? If the former you'll need to make sure it doesn't protrude below the base plate - many lenses are very close (within 2mm). If the later then you need more information.

My advice if you want people to get on board is to make a prototype that works how you want on your lens, then see how to adapt it. This will also get people a look at what it is and how it will help. Of course if this is a commercial venture then you'll let the cat out of the bag - but also see if there's any interest from potential buyers.

Good luck!
