jimleicam3 Posted September 7, 2017 Share #1 Posted September 7, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, Just got the SE M 21 mm about 4 weeks ago. I have noticed over the last couple of days that the front half of the lens seems loose. I has not effect on focus or f stop adjustments. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks
Advertisement Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Hi jimleicam3, Take a look here Super-Elmar- M 21 mm- not rock solid. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
brill64 Posted September 7, 2017 Share #2 Posted September 7, 2017 Maybe this is a good time to return it to your Leica dealer for a replacement or repair?
stephan54 Posted September 7, 2017 Share #3 Posted September 7, 2017 Had the same problem with a new Summilux. It has been rebuilt in Wetzlar. My copy started to produce out of focus pictures.
onasj Posted September 7, 2017 Share #4 Posted September 7, 2017 My first 21 SEM (purchased new, now returned) was mechanically smooth and solid, but badly decentered. The second copy I tested, in the Leica store, was perfect. Neither had any looseness but the decentering of the first copy was very obvious even just displaying on the screen on the back of the M10, and I was surprised that the Leica QA process didn't catch the defect.

Thanks Had the same problem with mine albeit it wasn't brand new it was still less than a year old. Leica took it back and fixed it for free.
