Advertisement Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Hi A miller, Take a look here Selfie Nation. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Beresford Posted September 6, 2017 Share #2 Posted September 6, 2017 She is, indeed, pretty as a picture. When ever I try and take a 'selfie' I look as if I am on a Most Wanted list. One wonders what the background might be that demanded a self-portrait. I bet the picture wasn't as good as this one. It is a great theme. I hope, Adam, you will be moved to continue with your documentation of the Selfie Nation.

stray cat Posted September 8, 2017 Share #5 Posted September 8, 2017 Great idea for a thread, Adam, and a couple of killer shots to kick off with. Mind you, I think the ubiquitous selfies are definitely not just confined to ONE nation. Here's one of mine that I hope will fit in with the theme: Staten Island Ferry 2016 M6TTL, 35mm Summicron, Tri-X
stray cat Posted September 8, 2017 Share #6 Posted September 8, 2017 ... and another one, taken same day: Liberty Island Ferry, 2016

The Tri-X is sublime - great blacks and contrast.

Beresford Posted September 13, 2017 Share #15 Posted September 13, 2017 (edited) Yours truly, documenting my disability in my office mirror! Same tech specs as previous post. Erl, if I might make a light remark: You go against the grain in more than one sense. I find this photograph really holds my attention as I try to work out the details. erl Posted September 13, 2017 Share #16 Posted September 13, 2017 Erl, if I might make a light remark: You go against the grain in more than one sense. I find this photograph really holds my attention as I try to work out the details. Yes, but no, it goes WITH the grain! A combination of accidents produced the result, which, while not my usual style, I am tempted to pursue it a bit further. Details: Leica R8 with Summilux 80/1.4 lens. Film: Ilford HP5+ exp @ 800iso and developed (accidentally) with 50ml of Rodinal instead of 5ml. Even the sprocket hole went black!!! Scanning dense neg took forever.

That's hardcore. I'm always delighted to find I am not the only person to experiment involuntarily. I like the result.
