Tomek Posted September 2, 2017 Share #1 Posted September 2, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am not sure if this is lack of my knowledge but in the setup I defined metering mode as follows: INFO summary displays: ... what suggests that I rather defined "Center-weighted" than "Spot". Any ideas?
Advertisement Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Hi Tomek, Take a look here What Metering Mode am I using?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
happymac Posted September 2, 2017 Share #2 Posted September 2, 2017 Depends on the finder mode you are using. If you don't use an EVF or LV, center-weighted is the only metering mode you can use (default for closed shutter metering).

What LV you have in mind?
happymac Posted September 2, 2017 Share #4 Posted September 2, 2017 LV means Liveview = button on the top at left side of your M10

a.noctilux Posted September 2, 2017 Share #8 Posted September 2, 2017 With LV or EVF only to use M10 Spot metering. As a bonus (compared to M typ 240 family) the round spot can be adjusted around with the rear direction pad .

As a bonus (compared to M typ 240 family) the round spot can be adjusted around with the rear direction pad . I don't think so — the cross is to set the starting section for zooming in. If the section has been shifted, a target cross in the image field indicates the center of the detail. This has nothing to do with the metering spot. Never seen a "cross target" on M10 in Spot Metering. Where do we find this cross in LV or EVF and Spot Metering ? happymac Posted September 3, 2017 Share #13 Posted September 3, 2017 Look into the manual: Page 170 (DE-EN) Page 54 (FR-NL)
happymac Posted September 3, 2017 Share #14 Posted September 3, 2017 (edited) ...but: New for me, there is a spot to shift, if you are in spot metering mode. Thanks! Never saw this before and it isn't mentioned in the manual. Edited September 3, 2017 by happymac
happymac Posted September 3, 2017 Share #15 Posted September 3, 2017 This has nothing to do with the metering spot....which is wrong. I realized this today. Thanks, a.noctilux!
a.noctilux Posted September 3, 2017 Share #16 Posted September 3, 2017 Happymac, you are welcome. I appreciate this Spot Metering movement a lot. Now I'm digitizing every day my thousands of slides and some have tricky brightness which is a challenge to have good exposure. With the moving Spot of M10 (not available in M240/262 used before that) is neat to deal with those beautiful Kodachrome.
happymac Posted September 3, 2017 Share #17 Posted September 3, 2017 I bought a slide scanner two months before the M10...
a.noctilux Posted September 3, 2017 Share #18 Posted September 3, 2017 If you fancy one day (after using your dedicated film scanner like I've done) to scan M10+BEOON, have a look here: https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/275849-useful-to-shoot-some-slide-film-%E2%80%93-beoonm10/
4pipes Posted September 3, 2017 Share #19 Posted September 3, 2017 (edited) Look into the manual: Page 170 (DE-EN) Page 54 (FR-NL) It's not on p170 of my English manual. Are there new versions? I'm using the PDF dated January 2018. Edited September 3, 2017 by 4pipes
4pipes Posted September 4, 2017 Share #20 Posted September 4, 2017 Found it. Really only talks about shifting focus point, doesn't mention spot metering.
