Arai Posted September 2, 2017 Share #1 Posted September 2, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I came across the ebay today that sell M Monochrom, it's unclear whether it's M246 or MM ver 1 but the description is very fishy. Here is the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/Leica-M-M-Monochrom-18-0-MP-Digital-Camera-Black-Body-Only-Typ-246-10930/322705383476?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D46086%26meid%3D1cbf53d5a4604b5b8d6e88322594eaa7%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D272829839464&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 I know the next thing to do is check the seller rating/credibility, that's what I did, the seller rating is excellent. So can we trust this posting?
Advertisement Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Hi Arai, Take a look here Can we trust ebay nowadays?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rafikiphoto Posted September 2, 2017 Share #2 Posted September 2, 2017 (edited) The word 'bargepole' is in my mind. This dodgy ad doesn't mean all of eBay is a waste of time though. Edited September 2, 2017 by rafikiphoto
earleygallery Posted September 2, 2017 Share #3 Posted September 2, 2017 Please use your common sense here. The listing is an auction but then in the description the 'seller' says no bidding but to email directly. Obvious sign of a scam!!
pop Posted September 2, 2017 Share #4 Posted September 2, 2017 Fraudulent ad. The signs are very clear. The ad contains an image showing a text. The text says not to place a bid but to get into contact with the seller outside eBay. Don't waste your time with such stuff. If you're tempted by this ad, just burning your money will do. Don't burn money within a closed space. The fumes might be toxic.

Leicalifer Posted September 3, 2017 Share #9 Posted September 3, 2017 There's a link on every eBay ad to report it to them as fraudulent. eBay adds this once the seller posts the item for sale. Works great and weeds out the scammers.

Guest Posted September 27, 2017 Share #11 Posted September 27, 2017 Fraudulent ad. The signs are very clear. The ad contains an image showing a text. The text says not to place a bid but to get into contact with the seller outside eBay . To place an ad and then deal outside of eBay is forbidden by eBay and gives neither the seller or the buyer any protection. eBay will always assist a potential bidder if they suspect an add is fraudulent. I buy and sell on eBay and have always found them very helpful,"especially when I first started selling" to make sure all transactions are honest, legal and smooth running. algrove Posted October 12, 2017 Share #12 Posted October 12, 2017 eBay only cares about buyers, not sellers. I can speak from personal experience. BEWARE as a seller.
UliWer Posted October 12, 2017 Share #13 Posted October 12, 2017 Good advice, that sellers should be protected from potential buyers. The threat for sellers is so big, that some of them pretend to be buyers when they want to sell. We had some recent cases of this here.
