Advertisement Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 Hi Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS, Take a look here Vario-Elmar-T 55-135mm. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted September 9, 2017 Share #22 Posted September 9, 2017 For me, the 11-23 zoom and the 35/1.4 is all I will get in TL format. This covers wide and standard focal lengths in AF; for anything longer, I have M mount lenses in 50 & 75mm (75 & 112 mm equivalent) and I then have the SL zooms, taking me from 135mm to 420mm if I'm game, and don't want to use the SL. Why the 11/23mm and not the 23 prime?? Neil
tom0511 Posted September 9, 2017 Share #23 Posted September 9, 2017 the 55-135 is an ideal lens for kids outside. its small enough that you dont leave it at home at has enough speed to get shallow dof. it gets more use than he 90-280 which I also own. very flexible lens and very sharp. IkarusJohn Posted September 9, 2017 Share #24 Posted September 9, 2017 Why the 11/23mm and not the 23 prime?? Neil Because I'm not a huge fan of the 35mm field of view. I prefer wider, and 17-35mm is more useful. The widest prime I have is 21mm, which gives 32.5mm fov on the TL2. The 11-23mm is the only lens which gives me a wider than 21mm fov in any format. If the TL works out to be a good walk about camera and the files are good enough for a A2 print then I guess there is no point in getting an M10. The TL can then be a good back up to the Soo7. Back to the 11/23mm I too like a FOV of 21mm, my SEM was/is my favorite lens after the Noctilux neil
