It was a hard catch. Had to try 8 or 9 times until "boom" - I got lucky!

M240, Summicron 35mm, f/5.6, exposure time 55sec.

I am fascinated by the looping paths seemingly taken by the lightning. Best seen in the 100% crop.

Very well done.  I've heard of a device which senses an immanent strike and can trigger your camera.

 

Thank you. And yes, I've read about them too. I doubt, however, if they'd be compatible with anything as quirky as a Leica. Anyhow, it would take the thrill out of fishing if you catch something each time... The wait, the skill, the mystery and element of luck is what it is all about
