Leica C question

I have just found a very irritating issue with my little Leica C camera. Images are quite superb so no issue there.

When shooting general shots I can remember pretty much what each image is about and can get settings etc from photoshop. As an aside, my main hobby is cultivating orchid flowers so having recently travelled to Colombia I have several images of flowers which are new to me. When I shoot those I always record names in a notebook, but have found that this little camera does not store images in the chronological order in which they were shot. Hence my notes are not in the same order as the flower images so it is quite difficult to match up names to images a while after the event.

I am not sure why this happens. I also use a V-Lux where images are stored in the order as shot.

Have I missed a setting somewhere, or is it a "feature" of "C" software to store images randomly in spare space?

I presume you are looking at your photos on your desktop or laptop computer, rather than on the miniscule screen of the Leica C.

If so, you appear to have chosen a different ordering for the files than you usually do. Which program are you using when the problem occurs?

If you are looking at the images in LightRoom, after import and in the thumbnail view, look at the bottom of the screen and check the '(A to Z) sort' feature.  For some reason it often defaults to 'Added Order' and I have to change it to 'File Name'.  You can also select 'Capture Time'.

You are, of course, absolutely correct.

I load images to my PC using the standard Windows "load files from external..." device direct from my camera. It is there that the images get mixed up.

I load also to my MacBook where they come out as a file in strict date/time stamped order.

As I am trying to move from PC to Mac the issue will go away.

Grateful thanks for helping.

Richard
