Advertisement Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Hi Ashkanani1985, Take a look here M10 black with silver lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
riswanc Posted August 15, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 15, 2017 I swoop my body for silver so cant really show you the combo But im certain the silver summilux is heavier and made of brass You can find the info more accurately on the leica camera web, thats what i did before Instagram @jakontil
jaapv Posted August 15, 2017 Share #3 Posted August 15, 2017 If I were to buy the Summilux again I would buy it in black. The silver one is really heavy - 480 gram... The silver one is chrome on brass, the black one anodized aluminium.
SilentShutter Posted August 15, 2017 Share #4 Posted August 15, 2017 I am not sure - I am a sucker for these mixed up combos. Heavy (are you men or mice ?) or not I would go for silver !

a.noctilux Posted August 15, 2017 Share #6 Posted August 15, 2017 (edited) Last Leica M System Catalog: At page 87, Summilux-M 50/1.4 Asph. : 335g (black), 465g (silver) this is the last leica lens in 50mm which remain in silver chrome along with the Summaron-M 28mm. Other current lenses are black or silver anodized, so same weight for black or silver. Talking about weight, my experience of big/heavy lenses ended some time ago. As long time Noctilux fan, I don't want that heavy weight anymore, even if I do use it time to time . My "go-to lens" is now Summarit-M 50 which is "better for my shoulder/neck". M10 black with silver lens, you have examples here; Post #16 https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/272468-the-i-love-my-m10-thread/ Edited August 15, 2017 by a.noctilux
Bill W Posted August 15, 2017 Share #7 Posted August 15, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have one of each and in the end, they both take pretty good pictures regardless of weight!!!!
adli Posted August 15, 2017 Share #8 Posted August 15, 2017 I would guess the silver one adds more substance to the pictures given the extra weight....

exile Posted August 15, 2017 Share #10 Posted August 15, 2017 I have a Silver lux ASPH on a silver M10. It's impossible not to notice the heft when you first pick it up it, but in actual use I honestly don't notice the weight. If I'm planning on going for a hike and want to go lightweight I use a 40/
mdemeyer Posted August 15, 2017 Share #11 Posted August 15, 2017 Second the 40/2 - M-Rokkor version for me. Great walk-around lens.
exile Posted August 15, 2017 Share #12 Posted August 15, 2017 Yup. Mine is the CLE. Love it from f/2.8 onwards.
tobey bilek Posted August 16, 2017 Share #13 Posted August 16, 2017 40 is a cool lens. Mine is on Rollie 35. But back to question, I dislike chrome lenses on black.
colint544 Posted August 16, 2017 Share #14 Posted August 16, 2017 (edited) I'm likely in the minority but I think a black chrome M fitted with a silver chrome lens looks nice. Welcome, dear visitor! Keith_W Posted August 16, 2017 Share #15 Posted August 16, 2017 That's beautiful, Colin. I don't think you are in the minority. I don't mind the combination of black and silver.
rent Posted August 16, 2017 Share #16 Posted August 16, 2017 Colin, wow! That's one beautiful camera. May I ask how many years of wear resulted in this beauty? Thanks!
colint544 Posted August 16, 2017 Share #17 Posted August 16, 2017 Thanks. Five years this month I've had it.
Eric1 Posted August 16, 2017 Share #18 Posted August 16, 2017 I have the silver chrome 50mm lux and it does weigh the M10 down in the front but to me the size is negligible compared to my old dslr camera. If you want a smaller 50mm lens get the summicron, either apo if you need to see wrinkles on people's faces, or the classical version which is still sharp but softer overall. Frankly I love the silver chrome 50mm lux and though solid in my hand it's still a technical marvel something that good can be that small. steffenphotography Posted August 16, 2017 Share #19 Posted August 16, 2017 I recently bought my M10 Second hand in black chrome (no silver Version for this price available) and I already had the Silver Lux. Looks Good to me! bit a little bit front heavy. Welcome, dear visitor!
