Looking at some of the pic's I took with M9 and noticing something that might look like corrosion. Just asking to you all because the deadline for free replacement is approaching...

How would you assess the spot, dust or corrosion?

Corrosion, I'd say. You're running late for the free replacement.  Ship it to Leica on Monday.

Dank voor de snelle reactie Jaap.

Vaststellen van de corrosie komt wat mij betreft net op tijd. Na de vakantie én voor de deadline! Dus geen probleem om maanden zonder toestel te zitten!

Which point in time is used for determining whether my camera is within the period designated for the full goodwill arrangement?

The date on which the defect was reported to Leica Camera AG applies. In each concrete case, a check of the camera by Leica Customer Care is required to prove that the problem is due to the corresponding sensor defect. This check can be made by sending the camera or a suitable test exposure to Leica Customer Care and subsequent checking of the camera by specialist personnel at Leica.

I don't think the shipping date applies here.

But nevertheless it's time to take action, 15th August is deadline.
