I just purchased an M240 (black) used in pristine condition. It came with a RRS base plate and grip. I would like to locate a very clean to pristine M240 base plate in black so that I can use my Luigi Crescenzi leather half case. I checked Ebay a˜d came up with nothing. I can buy a new one from Leica, but that would break the bank and I can get along very nicely without using my leather half case if it comes to it.

Does anyone know where I can locate a black M 240 base plate without breaking the bank?

If you want to buy a mint one surely it will cost close to the Leica price. How much does it cost anyway? I replaced mine on a few cameras in the past and can't remember what they cost.

An alternative would be to buy the Leicatime bottom plate.

I think he has promotions from time to time which include a rather nice strap for free.

If you are going to cover it with a case why the need for a pristine one.

I was after one for my M240 last November and also came up blank on finding a used one.

Leica Mayfair (UK) quoted me UK£250 for a new one.
