platypus Posted July 28, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) This was taken a few days ago, I hesitated to post as it is so dreary with it's mid-winter colour palette, a true reflection of what continues to be a difficult season of exceptionally dry and cold conditions. Then I saw the lovely "Morning walk in the woods" posted by fotografr and found the contrast between our two countries and seasons interesting.....so here's my morning walk in the "woods". Advertisement Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Hi platypus, Take a look here Morning bush walk.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
fotografr Posted July 28, 2017 Share #2 Posted July 28, 2017 It might be very different, but it's no less beautiful. When it's green there, it'll be cold and dreary here. I've been reading about floods in New Zealand but apparently the rain hasn't reached Australia--at least, not where you are.
erl Posted July 28, 2017 Share #3 Posted July 28, 2017 Dee, your familiarity with your environment 'blinds' you to real beauty. We are all victim of this, as I know too well. I think you image here is excellent. A beautiful portrait of a section of our country that I enjoy so much. Thank you. One should not overlook your eye for composition and the balance of the old tree juxtaposed with the younger down the hill. Be proud of your achievement.

david strachan Posted July 28, 2017 Share #5 Posted July 28, 2017 I like it too. Beaut balance of light and darker. Every time i look at your pictures, I just want to explore your country. We nearly did last year, but another time, it is on my list..a part of Oz I haven't looked at yet.. All best, trust you and Sister are well...
euston Posted July 28, 2017 Share #6 Posted July 28, 2017 That’s a very good photo, Dee. I can almost hear my footfall crunching over those dry twigs. You’ve even got me agreeing with erl. He voices perfectly my response to your picture.

platypus Posted July 29, 2017 Author Share #9 Posted July 29, 2017 Brent, Erl, Dave, euston, samwells and stuny.....I read your kind and positive comments this morning, they have made my day. Sometimes I find it difficult to evaluate my own photos, hesitating to fall into the trap of assuming a photo is 'good' or even interesting merely because I saw it/ took it. With this one I couldn't make up my mind whether it would have any relevance to anyone else....so thank you all very much....
erl Posted July 29, 2017 Share #10 Posted July 29, 2017 Dee, something I learnt, far too late in life is that, "if I like my picture, it is good". If nobody else likes it, they are missing out. That way you will enjoy your work sooo much more.
