Collieslave Posted July 26, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 26, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a IIIf and a IIIg. Between the viewfinder window and the flash socket is a small black dot (paint filled tiny depression). Dunno what the significance of this is; but I wonder why it is there! Any ideas? Advertisement Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Hi Collieslave, Take a look here Curious - what is the black dot significance? (if any!). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted July 26, 2017 Share #2 Posted July 26, 2017 Just an indicator for attaching a Leica flash lead. Most leads just plug in, Leica ones would plug in then turn to 'clamp' in place.
willeica Posted July 26, 2017 Share #3 Posted July 26, 2017 I have just checked the IIIg manual. There was a bell shaped metal top on the lead with an arrow engraved on it. You turned this until the arrow pointed at the dot in order to ensure it was clamped, as James says. William
