Flash Metz 26 AF2- will it work with M10

No, Metz flashes do not work on Leica M.

You have to buy the Leica branded ones.

Same product, different software, different shoe.

Have a look at the SF40. It's outsourced from Nissin.

I think this would be a better buy.

It has analog dials on the back, HSS and many other features

It's a very very good flash and it's not cumbersome.

This is the link to the Nissin website which is more informative than Leica one.

It's the same product, but you have to buy the Leica branded one.

I don't understand why the larger flashes don't use this dial based concept. It looks so much quicker to use to dial in the appropriate level.

I have the very small SF26. Bought it 2nd hand “as new” for just EUR 75,=.

Of course, it’s not meant for the heavy reporting work, like marriage photography. I use it now and then for f/e fill-in flashes. It does it for me quite well.

When people say "It doesn't work" I believe that is just in reference to the TTL.

On full manual mode, I don't see why any flash wouldn't work, as long as it's not one of those super old vivitars that has voltage that's too high for digital cameras.

I have the SF-40 and have had 0 issues with it, it's nice, but it's hardly a robust piece of equipment for the price - I bought it used and it was still more than my brand new, basically identical Nissin i40 I use on my Sony cameras.

It won't work because it has no manual controls. Just three buttons: TTL, Slave and LED (Video light) .

Oh - and On-Off.

A bit of defene for the SF-40. Yes. it is an overly expensive rebrand, but it IS a quality product and gives good results - far better than the SF 26 toy. If anything, the old SF24D is by fa a better flash than the 26, even if it does not tilt.
