What am I doing wrong?

OK. This is weird.

I have two SL bodies. Both with f.w.3.0. One I updated myself. The other done by Leica while my camera was on holiday with them. Assuming each camera has a native SL lens and identical menu set up (by loading the same profile to each camera).

I am referring to the menu setting for the AE/AF Lock Button (pressing the joystick). The AF mode function selection.

On the camera I updated It's set to zoom (AF mode). However if I enter the selection menu zoom is not offered as a function and I can't set anything else.

On the camera Leica updated the sub-menu works but zoom is not offered as an option.

Leica update camera on the left. Updated by My update on the right. You can see that NONE of the options are available for selection on the right screen. And neither camera has ZOOM as an option in the selection menu.....

So what am I doing wrong??

Gordon

p.s. I reset the cameras and see no difference.

Left also on mine.  Looked at menus and could not see anywhere to change this as suggested by jaapv.   What does the AE/AF Lock button do when pressed for the the right camera?

Hello Gordon, as "Budfox" wrote: "Mine is the same as the left. There is no option to select 'zoom' under AF-Mode (only under MF-mode). This is the same with SL and M lenses (just checked). (...)"

I also have two SL bodies (FW 3.0), with both SL-Varios and M-lenses; they all work exactly as your SL body on the left. There must be something "wrong" with your "self updated" SL...

Hi Gordon, I've checked and mine's the same as the one on the left. No option to select Zoom under AF-Mode, only under Manual.

Hope you get it sorted soon and be interested in the outcome.

Cheers, Tom

Yes, there is, under SETUP, forth screen, second line down RESET CAMERA.

Regards, Tom

Both cameras have been reset several times. This function remains on the affected camera. I think something has gone wrong with the f.w. upgrade. I've contacted Leica as obviously the camera won't let me reload the same firmware.

Loaded the same profiles from the same SD card onto both cameras. Even the file names are now the same. This is the only different function in the menu.

I assume this difference is when the selected profile is not default?

If you save the profile from the camera on the right, and export it to the one on the left, does the menu change?

Just wondering.....
