ynp Posted July 14, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 14, 2017 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) We need to shoot some three dimensional stuff outside with multiple strobes and modifiers. We want to kill the ambient light and frieze the flowers in the foreground of the object. I will be using my S2 with its lowest 160 ISO. I will be able to borrow the S30 CS and S45 CS with its 1/1000 sync and use my Hasselblad HC lenses with very reliable 1/500 or a bit shorter. I will be using three power packs, two Broncolor Grafit and one Briese Cube. All my power packs (generators) lack any RFS or similar radio receivers, they are old. The tests showed that I can successfully sync the Leica S CS lens shutter if I hardwire the camera and generator with the cable. The optical triggering on the far away generators is too slow and unreliable. My Chinese triggers work only on 1/250 and I cannot use them for this job. What do you think I shall buy or rent to get the synchronization by radio? Any PocketWizards or anything else? What is the best solution? Thank you! Yevgeny P. S. I don't want to mess with the composite this time and I want to do everything in the camera. Edited July 14, 2017 by ynp
Advertisement Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 Hi ynp, Take a look here PocketWizard or similar radio trigger for 1/1000 sec.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ynp Posted July 16, 2017 Author Share #2 Posted July 16, 2017 Thank you, the board member who contacted me offline with the advice. The Broncolor RFS 2.1 worked for me very well today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
stephan_w Posted July 21, 2017 Share #3 Posted July 21, 2017 sorry when I'm to late but I used my S2 successfully for some years with pocked-wizzards and Nikon - SB 900 (five of them). Nevertheless this is a bit cumbersome and I woulnd't do it again today especially if I had to buy them new. On the other hand, for some specials needs this works very well
Karaminder Posted August 8, 2017 Share #4 Posted August 8, 2017 I’ve always used my Profoto AirSync remotes in ‘fast mode’ (hold down the mode button) whenever I need to use 1000/s shutter. Mind you, battery consumption is higher on the airsync when you do that.
basse Posted August 8, 2017 Share #5 Posted August 8, 2017 1/1000 sync is a Problem. With Profoto AirSync it works very well.
