Leica T Flash question

Am on vacation and hope someone can answer a question. I am taking a picture of someone. The person is seated in the covered shade with a very bright background- the sea and bright sun in the background. I tried to use fill flash . Put it on force flash and used spot metering.

The flash did not fire - tried a few times. Of course the pic came out with my subject being dark. I may be able to fix in post but wanted to do this in camera.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Anyone tried their SF40 on the TL2?

I'm a bit concerned it might brick the camera in the same way that the EVF 020 can.  I'm enjoying using the camera, and I don't want to unnecessarily stop it from working ...

Valid question. I'm still awaiting a new TL2 after the Visoflex freeze. However I thing the flash would use the older style larger contact points at the centre of the hot shoe while the Visoflex uses the smaller ones in a row, semi-hidden at the front of the hot shoe.

Still, it's something I would worry about :-)

I'm using the SF40 and SF64 (with old and new FW) and they both work fine.

I used the sf 40 on my Leica T yesterday and it worked well but it did brick the camera after four shots. Pulled the battery on the camera and kept working fine after that.

The SF60 flash. I use that with my CL and it syncs with TTL all the way up to the maximum mechanical shutter speed of 1/8000 second. Also works with my M262 all the way to its maximum 1/4000 second shutter speed.

I also have the SF C1 remote, allowing me to shoot the flash off-camera wirelessly with both, including high sync. I'll be picking up a second SF60 soon to put together a multi-flash setup, as well as having a backup.
