steppenw0lf Posted July 13, 2017 Share #21 Posted July 13, 2017 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Can the existing lenses be used with the camera ? Which type of lenses (D, G, E) ? Often Japanese companies offer their brand-new products first in Japan, often for many months in advance. Has anybody heard of such a (Japan-only) camera ? Advertisement Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Hi steppenw0lf, Take a look here Leica SL or Nikon J1 professional. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
steppenw0lf Posted July 13, 2017 Share #22 Posted July 13, 2017 (edited) After more than 2 years I checked again, if the current lenses are usable in the 1 series. And yes, most are in the list of compatible lenses !! (Yes, this is really great. ) Unfortunately you need to read this as well: See next paragraph. (blue) For me this means the 1 series is still as bad as it always was. (Maybe for others it is ok, when there is a semi-pro FF body). Functionality Limitations: • F mount lenses mounted on the FT-1 have a crop factor of 2.7x. Enjoy an angle of view equivalent to that of a super telephoto lens when a telephoto lens is used. (Example: When using a 300mm lens, the equivalent angle of view is that of an 800mm lens.) • AF/AE supported with AF-S lenses only. Autofocusing is possible when AF-S lenses are used. However, focus mode must be set to AF-S (Single AF) and AF-area mode is fixed at Single-point with only the center focus point used. • As of June 2013, we have updated Nikon 1 camera firmware as well as FT-1 firmware to support AF-C, (Continuous autofocus). Please check support.nikonusa.com for more information on firmware updates. • The focus indicator (rangefinder) can be used with CPU lenses. • When using the FT-1 and a compatible AF-S NIKKOR F-Mount lens, users can take full advantage of the Nikon 1's high-speed continuous shooting of 10/30/60 fps. (*When an AF-S lens is used. However, focus is locked with the first shot with continuous shooting.) • [P], , [A], and [M] exposure modes can be used with CPU lenses. • [A] and [M] exposure modes can be used with non-CPU lenses. Aperture is specified using the aperture ring on the lens. • Vibration reduction (VR) functions when VR lenses are used. Enable vibration reduction, or specify a setting, using switches on the lens. NORMAL/ACTIVE modes are supported when lenses equipped with these modes are used. VR functions in NORMAL mode when lenses not equipped with the NORMAL/ACTIVE modes are used. • Shooting in Motion Snapshot mode is only possible when focus has been acquired with an AF-S lens. • The Smart Photo Selector function cannot be used. • Autofocus may be less precise when Shutter-priority auto, Aperture-priority auto, or Manual is selected for Exposure mode. Focus manually if you have trouble using autofocus. With some lenses the focus distance indicator may not display the actual distance to the subject or the minimum focus distance may increase. • For Teleconverter/NIKKOR lens compatibility, check your teleconverter's manual.
