LUF Admin Posted July 11, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 11, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica yesterday published a small update for the Leica M10 Firmware: Version 1.9.4.0 does only fix one bug. From the release note: Unfortuntely we discovered, that in certain cases, the firmware 1.7.4.0 could produce black images when using short exposure times. On this page you'll find the firmware download: http://en.leica-camera.com/Photography/Leica-M/Leica-M10/Downloads

Pjay Posted July 12, 2017 Share #3 Posted July 12, 2017 (edited) Something very wrong with the Leica server.... Several attempts at file download have failed, and download speed has been 24-40 KB/s, whereas a download speed test for my mobile broadband service revealed 7.9 Mb/s odd... Tomek Posted July 12, 2017 Share #4 Posted July 12, 2017 Just small information. Since very first FW update for M10 LEICA tags all of them with the following languages: Chinese English French German Italian Japanese Korean Polish Russian. This is not true. There is no Polish language available but ... Portuguese. The only real Polish file on download page is FW installation manual for version 1.3.4.0. Renatus Posted July 13, 2017 Share #5 Posted July 13, 2017 Thank you. I had that isssue on a brand new M10. Dealer was about to replace it (great service). Now all good.
scott kirkpatrick Posted July 13, 2017 Share #6 Posted July 13, 2017 Thanks for the alert. Haven't encountered the problem (electronic shutter at high speeds?). No difficulty with the download and firmware installation, although it took a little over 5 minutes to complete. My settings were not affected. robert blu Posted July 13, 2017 Share #7 Posted July 13, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Done without problem. I had two blank shots a few days ago, not sure why, maybe due to that bug in the previous version. robert

Took abut 25s to download to iMac and all working now. Upload to camera takes perhaps several minutes as with the recent previous firmware. Rupert Greenwell Posted July 13, 2017 Share #9 Posted July 13, 2017 Took two attempts to download the firmware but probably my own slow internet. Installed okay but be warned it is a different installation process to the last one.
Tailwagger Posted July 14, 2017 Share #10 Posted July 14, 2017 Seemed exactly the same to me. Happy to report no issues upgrading.
4pipes Posted July 16, 2017 Share #11 Posted July 16, 2017 No problem for me either. I've noticed that the Leica server is pretty slow, or could be the distance from Northern California.
LNG Posted July 17, 2017 Share #12 Posted July 17, 2017 Hi everyone, I just installed the the new firmware (no issues and everything went smoothly) and have noticed the following bug. Every time you take a picture with exposure compensation applied, either + or -, and then you look at the image on the LCD and overlay the photo info, it will show the exp comp as -3. Regardless of the exposure compensation used... it will always show -3. Anyone else see the same thing? Cheers.
Renatus Posted July 17, 2017 Share #13 Posted July 17, 2017 H LNG, Yes, me too. Exposure comp appears correctly in the preview, then as -3 in the 'play' review of the in-camera jpg. Actual exposure seems to be correct.
LNG Posted July 17, 2017 Share #14 Posted July 17, 2017 (edited) Hi Renatus, That is right... the image is exposed as planned. It is just on the play mode that shows it as -3. Well... it is good to know that you also have the issue, which means it is a firmware bug. Not a critical one at all... but something they should probably fix with the next firmware. Cheers, L. willeica Posted July 17, 2017 Share #17 Posted July 17, 2017 I've noticed this too. Perhaps Leica are keeping us on our toes by always leaving at least one bug in the system! It does not bother me very much. William
Peyton Hoge Posted July 19, 2017 Share #18 Posted July 19, 2017 In my menu, the firmware version (1.9.4.0) is grayed out. Is this correct? Is it supposed to be grayed out?
