Shot pheasants hang ready to be sold by the farmers in the local livestock market near to the city of Salisbury in Wiltshire, England. Pheasants are common here and eat the grain that is sown in the fields. They are also bred for hunting with shotguns.

A scene not many people would see very often and certainly not here DownUnder. It has an almost 17th/18th century still life feel to it. It also reminds me of my years living in Devon and both the far off dull sound of gunfire during the hunting season and the sometimes multitudes of roadkill they became as well.
